How to Choose the Right Inverter Size for Your Home in Nigeria

Learn the key factors to consider when selecting an inverter for your Nigerian home, from load calculation to backup time requirements.

Choosing the right inverter size is crucial for a reliable solar power system. Too small and you experience overloads; too large and you waste money. The rule of thumb is to add up all the appliances you want to run simultaneously, then add a 30% safety buffer for the inverter rating.

For a typical 3-bedroom Nigerian home with 2 ACs, fridge, TV, lights and fans, you are looking at roughly 3.5–5kW continuous load. A 5kW Deye hybrid inverter is usually the perfect fit. For commercial properties with heavy equipment, 10kW or above is recommended.
